Undead Descent
Undead Descent is a first-person zombie survival game based on the Korean #Alive film. It's a heart-stopping journey from top to bottom floor while the player character is stuck in a building filled with zombies. With each level, the zombies get progressively harder, along with environmental obstacles. The player is challenged in the forms of supply finding, resource management, and using strategy in order to keep their character alive. The task is simple: get out of the building before it's too late.
As one of the main developers, project coordinators, and sound designers, my commitment has been to assure that this game will be an intense experience, immersive in every way. The game is developed with Unreal Engine 5, a platform that allows for high-quality visual display with dynamic environments. In UE5, Nanite technology enables highly detailed architecture and textures, while Lumen's global illumination system improves the atmosphere of the building. In addition to this, I developed the ZombieAI BP script which utilized collision spheres to propagate the hit animation for the zombies. That tension mounts in its sound design; Ableton is used to craft the soundscape and immersive zombie noises within the game. Provided Mixamo animation blueprints breathe life into the realistic movement of the zombies, while assets from Sketchfab fill in more detail of the setting. Undead Descent offers a tense, action-packed gameplay experience in which players have to fight for survival within an ever-tightening environment.
